CELEBRATING 100 YEARS
KIRTLINGTON PARK POLO CLUB

In 1926, when Hugh Budgett first laid the turf on Ground 1, it is likely he never imagined how the club would grow over the next 100 years. Now in 2026 we are one of the largest low-goal clubs in the UK and we are keen to ensure the club continues to thrive in the modern world.

While polo is the glue holding the club together, KPPC is (and always has been) more than just a polo club. It’s a focal point for friendships, an incubator for young talent within the sport and home to a community of patrons, professionals, grooms, village families and local supporters.

Unsurprisingly we want to celebrate and mark the club’s centenary in a meaningful way.

The Centenary Ball

International Day

First, The Centenary Ball will be held on Saturday 27 June.  We hope as many of you as possible will take a table and join us to mark this momentous milestone in true Kirtlington style – with a lot of joie de vivre!!

Secondly, we will be marking milestone year, the club will host a special International Day on the 4th of July, featuring an exciting Under-19s match between England and South America. With 8 amazing next generation polo players, showcasing unrivalled talent, skill and natural ability developed from years in the saddle, it’s clear the next generation are developing faster, playing smarter and reaching new levels far quicker than those before them-making this a truly spectacular treat to watch.

The Tree of Wishes

Last but not least , we have also launched the ‘Tree of Wishes’ - an ambitious fundraising initiative to raise £100,000 to fund significant investment in the club, improving the grounds and facilities for all our members and friends to enjoy, for generations to come.

Donations can be made:

With £100,000 we could:

  • Continue to invest in irrigation.  Well maintained grounds attract higher calibre teams, players and ponies, resulting in more exciting polo.

  • Plant commemorative shade trees in the pony lines. We all know the ponies are the stars of the show and their welfare comes first.

  • Improve The Club House and its surrounding areas. It’s already a special place to enjoy a drink in the evening sunshine while your children run free after Sunday polo, but this will have a profound effect in creating a better space for us all to use.

We’re very aware there are many demands on everyone’s hard earned cash and perhaps at first glance a polo club may not seem an obvious cause to support. But we want to continue to be a vibrant part of our community, supporting local village businesses, farmers, feed merchants, transport companies, farriers, vets, and schools (to name but a few), as well as being a place to build friendships and make memories.

We hope friends and members of the club, past and present, will support this endeavour and help to ensure Kirtlington Park Polo Club continues long into the future.

Thank You!
